HOW IT WORKS

A Supporting Community for People Facing Financial Difficulty

Hand To Plough is a charitable association dedicated to alleviating poverty and distress, including sickness, disability, destitution, suffering, and helplessness. We offer support to all, regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, political beliefs, or marital status.

One of our key initiatives, Country Community, provides direct assistance to individuals and families facing financial hardship, helping them navigate difficult times with practical support.

To fulfill our mission, we:

  • Collaborate with charities, businesses, and government agencies to maximize our impact.
  • Receive donations and work alongside like-minded organizations, societies, and churches to extend our reach and effectiveness.

Practical Relief from Poverty

At Hand To Plough, we do more than just advocate and network. As a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) we provide a vital role in alleviating poverty by providing direct and practical support to those in need. Hand to Plough aims to make a tangible difference through:

  1. Essential Aid & Services – Providing food, clothing, shelter, and emergency financial assistance to individuals and families in crisis.
  2. Health & Wellbeing Support – Ensuring access to medical care, mental health services, and substance abuse recovery programs.
  3. Employment & Training Programs – Offering job readiness training, skill development, and work placement opportunities to help people gain financial independence.

By combining immediate relief with long-term empowerment strategies, PBIs can bring real and lasting change to those experiencing hardship.

Supporting Those Who Support us

The power and importance of “community” cannot be underestimated.  Throughout Queensland and the Northern Territory, a network of people is available to help others. Our Country Community program is designed to strengthen this network to provide stronger support.

To support the infastructure of people facing financial crisis, we will be strengthening the network of support. In 2025, we will provide mental health assistance to assist people in their daily work. This program will provide a macro vision of “what I do” and align it with “who I am” in the context of everyday work.

People who access our Professional Supervision as a paid service are also supporting our efforts to assist people in need. All income from the booked sessions help us to provide continual relief to those who cannot afford it.
