HAND TO PLOUGH
What we do...

The 24OX portfolio is our initial pilot project, which has identified its propensity and viability and demonstrated its potential for long-term impact and sustainability.
24OX is a project that seeks to assist those disadvantaged by poverty, destitution, helplessness, or suffering. Its primary goal is to provide financial and resource assistance to vulnerable people who cannot help themselves.
In the past, 24OX has piloted the program in Sri Lanka through two activities:
- Sri Lanka – Micro Farming Funds
- Sri Lanka – Education Center
These 2 activities have sought to assist people who have been discriminated against because of their race, gender, and poverty. This generational discrimination has led to helplessness and suffering. Primarily, 24OX has been assisting in breaking the cycle of poverty and distress through:
- Providing micro loans to assist people to provide food for their family.
- Resource young women who have been the target of sexual violence and intimidation
- Assist people who are helpless with resources of education.
- Provide support for people who have been the target of physical violence and threats from community groups.
- Crisis intervention for children who have experienced violence and harassment.
- Education on mental health, confidence, and community engagement.
The power and importance of “community” cannot be underestimated. Throughout Queensland and the Northern Territory, a network of people is available to help others.
Country Community alleviates helplessness, suffering, misfortune, and disability. Our primary mission is to support vulnerable individuals facing crises—whether mental, emotional, physical, or environmental (that extend beyond everyday stressors). This includes urgent situations such as suicide risk, sexual violence, and domestic abuse. The rising statistics of sexual abuse and suicide in outback Queensland highlight the critical need for this work.
In the future, it also seeks to establish emergency supplies to assist people in crises. For example:
- Counselling services
- A food and clothing resource
- Fuel vouchers and emergency housing network for people to flee domestic violence or sexual abuse
- Subsidised accommodation for emergency medical issues
